During the parliamentary recess last week, I held a surgery in Broadbridge Heath and met with the Horsham Employment Support Hub team, as well as Lib Dem leader Ed Davey to discuss key local issues.
Last week, I spoke in Parliament about the inheritance tax for working farms and the importance of community energy. I also had a meeting with residents in Billingshurst and visited the YMCA in Horsham to discuss youth homelessness.
Last week, I spoke in Parliament about the cancellation of the local elections in West Sussex as well as issues related to kinship carers, universal credit and more. I also had a meeting on the state of local SEN provision and visited Age UK in Horsham.
Last week, I had the opportunity to deliver my first Prime Minister’s Question. I also had the honour of meeting King Charles III on Wednesday for a reception for new MPs at Buckingham Palace.
It has been another full-on week in parliament with the second reading of the Climate and Nature Bill, a Westminster Hall Debate on ECHPs, NFU protests and a Work and Pensions Committee meeting on WASPI women.
Welcome back to the second edition of Horsham’s Man in Westminster, a weekly update on my activities in Parliament and in the Horsham constituency. This past week I met with both the Aviation Minister and the Minister for Housing.
